The Woodbury Lions, the City of Woodbury, Woodbury Veterans Organizations, Woodbury businesses, and individual Woodbury citizens have come together to form the
Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial Council to build the
Woodbury Veterans Memorial.
Memorial Day Service
Monday May 28, 2012 at 11 am
The annual Woodbury Memorial Day Service will be held on Monday May 28, 2012. It will be at the Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial, located at Woodbury City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road (at the intersection with Radio Drive), Woodbury, MN 55125 . The program will begin at 11:00am with the Presentation of Colors by the Woodbury Jr. ROTC and the singing of the national anthem by Steven Yang (Woodbury Jr ROTC). Next will be an invocation from Pastor Mark LaFollette from New Life Church then welcoming remarks from Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens. There will be a keynote address given by Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Rock Marcone of Hugo. Rock retired from the U.S. Army in July 2006 with many awards and medals including: Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Legion of Merit, Humanitarian Service Medal and many others. He also wears the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Expert Infantryman's Badge and the Ranger Tab. Music will be provided by Bagpiper Tom Klein.
Participants will included a color guard from the Woodbury High School Jr. ROTC, the Civil Air Patrol – St. Croix Composite Squadron, along with members of the Woodbury VFW Post 9024, Woodbury American Legion Post 501, the Patriot Guard, and U.S.A. Army Recruiting - Woodbury.
